Vintage item, old new.

Details & Origin

This vintage kimono clutch is made of jacquard woven silk which gives it a very particular shine. You can notice the bag changes colours in different lights, and though it seems different in some photos, the colour is black.

The motif made of diamond-shaped cracked lines, called matsukawabishi, represents pine bark, and inside each diamond, is a 4 petal flower called hanabishi.

Clutches like this one, entirely made of black fabric, are originally designed to be worn for funeral ceremonies and have to be elegant but sober. Restyled with a different outfit, the monochrome textured motifs gain a real sense of modernity! The inside is made of plain silk twill and the whole clutch is consolidated with a sturdy structure.
