Travel pouches - Pine clouds
Mikan original creation.
These pouches combine antique Japanese textiles and new materials and were handcrafted in the Mikan studio in Kyoto.
Features
These travel pouches will keep your things organised while adding a touch of Japanese textile wherever you go. They can be purchased together or separately.
Motif and fabric details
The semi-abstract motif represents pine branches shaped as clouds. The pruning of pine trees is a very serious art in Japanese gardens. Pine motifs, considered highly auspicious, are often depicted with an impeccably neat, almost simplified shape. This sometimes gives the design, as is the case here, a striking sense of modernity.
The fabric is made of silk thread woven together with lamé, thin metallic slats that reflect the light in a very subtle way. Each pouch is made with a different part of the fabric, giving them a very different look.
Materials
Front: silk from antique Japanese obi
Back & sides: resistant 3D mesh polyester & nylon mix
Dimension
Mini: 21 x 14 cm / 8,2 x 5,5 in
Regular: 29 x 20 cm / 11,4 x7,8 in
