Bumbag - Thatch roof farmhouse
Mikan original creation.
This bumbag is a combination of antique Japanese textiles and new materials. It is handcrafted in my studio in Kyoto.
Details
The main fabric comes from an antique obi made of silk and lamé. The motif surprised me when I found this obi: though it is a very formal obi of fine quality, it represents a very rural scene of a farmer and cattle. The thatch roof reminds me of many farmhouses I see when I drive in the countryside of Kyushu. I would love to meet the person who wore this obi and hear about the events she joined wearing this beauty.
The back of the bag is made in a lightweight 3D mesh which allows the bag to take minimum space when not full and perfectly fit against your body.
The adjustable strap allows you to wear it as a bum bag or a crossbody bag.
