This week in the studio

Better than too many words, here is a photo story of the new bags that left the studio this week to meet their new owners. They were all designed by workshop participants who cut the fabrics during a workshop and then patiently waited for me to sew them and send them out.

Kinkakuji: Mother & daughter travel set

The travel set is a great choice if you want to combine 2 different fabrics in one order and share the final bags with someone you love.

The colorful obi is available in the collection, the grey one is available on request only.

The famous Golden Pavilion, which I happen to see from my studio window ! Or is it the bamboo replica of it, maybe.

The Mermaid series

This fabric is made with a wonderful technique called hikinuki, allowing real mother of pearl to be woven into textile. This obi isn’t available anymore. It has been ordered by different customers in different variations which I thought would be interesting to see and compare.

Made into a Futo Clutch

Made into a Bumbag

Made into another Bumbag, in a quieter style

Great wave hidden inside

A black, sober and ultra elegant Futo Clutch, but with a twist on the inside! The customer provided a beautiful cotton lining herself.

Seasonal pouches

I’m thrilled to have finalized this Pouch just before the sakura started the fade out. The landscape on the pouch looks a lot like the view from my new studio when the cherry trees were in bloom!

The other half of the set is just as seasonal: butterflies are buzzing around at the moment.

Last but not least

Iconic symbols of Japan, a crane flying before Mount Fuji, framed onto a Phone Bag.
